Connecting young people with the fascinating world of science and industry. This is what Sciences Adventure aims to do. It is an awareness-raising project through aptaskil (formerly Cefochim), the competence centre for chemical, biopharmaceutical and biotechnological production.
Through a variety of activities for primary, secondary and higher education pupils and students, Sciences Adventure encourages young people to embark on scientific and technical studies and careers, mainly in the chemical and life sciences sector.
Sciences Adventure organises events and conferences in schools, visits to the aptaskil centre, and meetings between young people and professional scientists from the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotech industries. The activities allow young people to discover the wide variety of fascinating jobs in the sector.
Despite the coronavirus crisis, activities that took place in 2020 raised awareness amongst almost 8,000 young people and their teachers. Intergenerational encounters took place virtually via a STEMdating platform. The initiative, called « A job to change the world », allows secondary and higher education students and young graduates to discover the jobs of tomorrow, through discussions with professionals from companies, universities, training centres and competitiveness clusters.
